Women's Lacrosse Concludes Season vs. USMMA

PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's lacrosse team concluded the season with a loss Wednesday night, falling to the United States Merchant Marine Academy by the score of 25-1.

With the result, the Panthers finished 0-12 overall and 0-8 in the Skyline Conference. For the Mariners, they moved to 10-2 and 7-0, respectively, as they prepare for the Skyline playoffs next week.

On the night, the guests scored the first five goals, before Annelise Durkin (SO/Mattituck, NY) broke the streak with her first goal of the season.

The chance came in the first quarter off a feed from Catie Chios (SO/Westbury, NY) with 11:07 remaining.

From that point on, the hosts were stymied on offense and held scoreless the rest of the night.

For the guests, they tallied 12 more goals over the first half to lead 17-1 at the break.

Overall, the Panthers finished with two shots, four ground balls and four draw controls in the effort.

Individually, Durkin finished with the goal, a ground ball and a caused turnover, while Riley O'Shea (JR/West Nyack, NY) produced the other shot on goal and three draw controls.

In goal, Amani Jamal (SR/Hopewell Junction, NY) finished with 16 saves and two ground balls in her final career game.

For the season, she totaled 184 saves and will likely lead all of NCAA Division III women's lacrosse players in saves per game with 15.27.

The Panthers will return to the field next year in March 2026.
