FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's basketball team was defeated on the road Tuesday night, falling to Farmingdale State College by the score of 83-61.
With the result, the Panthers moved to 5-12 overall and 3-5 in the Skyline Conference. For the Rams, they now sit at 14-2 and 7-0, respectively.
In the first half, the two sides kept things close throughout as they were tied at 34-all with just under three minutes to go.Â
However, the hosts then proceeded to close the half on an 8-0 run to lead 42-34 at the break. The Rams then lead the rest of the game, going up by as many as 24 points in the second half.
For the Blue and Orange, they shot 32.4 percent from the field in the effort, while Farmingdale's offense dominated with a 50-percent shooting clip.
Individually,
Sean Holzman (JR/Putnam Valley, NY) finished with a team-high 17 points, six rebounds and two steals.
Trey Skeete (SR/Brooklyn, NY) added 10 points and four rebounds, while
Desmond Ward (SR/Queens, NY) chipped in eight points and 12 rebounds.
Up next for the squad is a return home as it hosts Maritime College on January 24th at noon.
