Panthers Earn Fourth Draw of the Season

THROGGS NECK, N.Y. - The SUNY Purchase men's soccer team earned a hard-fought draw Tuesday, tying Maritime College by the score of 1-1.

With the result, the Panthers are now 1-11-4 overall and 0-5-4 in the Skyline Conference. For the Privateers, they moved to 4-6-4 and 3-2-4, respectively.

The hosts opened the scoring early, finding the back of the net in the fifth minute. From there, they remained in front until the 85th minute, when Purchase tied things up.

Dante Spinella (FY/Brewerton, NY) provided the tally off a feed from Omar Ait Sidi Ahmed (SO/Mohammedia, Morocco), as the guests emerged late with the tie result.

Overall, shots favored Maritime, 26-9 overall and 9-5 on goal. However, Ryder Lucas (FY/Penfield, NY) stood tall in goal, finishing with eight saves in the effort.

Up next for the squad is Senior Day and its Morgan's Message game on October 24th at 2:30 p.m. The Panthers will host USMMA.
