PURCHASE, N.Y. - The SUNY Purchase women's soccer team was defeated at home Tuesday, falling to Farmingdale State College by the score of 2-0.
With the result, the Panthers moved to 0-5-2 overall and 0-4-1 in the Skyline Conference. For the Rams, they moved to 7-3-1 and 4-1, respectively.
Over the first 70 minutes of the contest, the Blue and Orange held firm as their defense stifled and frustrated the Farmingdale attack.
Despite repeated attack after attack, they still could not break through. However, the damn finally broke in the 72nd minute, before the guests ultimately doubled the margin in the 81st minute to prevail with the win.
But 2-0 win was the smallest margin of victory for the Rams since 2008, as the Purchase defense came to play.
Offensively, the Panthers produced just two shots in the effort, while in goal,
Jill Creegan (JR/High Falls, NY) totaled 10 saves.
Up next for the squad is another home Skyline matchup, as it hosts Yeshiva University on October 8th at 7 p.m.
