BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's volleyball team earned a Skyline Conference win Saturday afternoon, besting St. Joseph's University-Brooklyn in four sets.
Scores for the contest were 23-25, 25-16, 25-16 and 25-23.
With the result, the Panthers moved to 2-9 overall and 1-0 in the league. For the Bears, they dropped to 4-4 and 1-1, respectively.
Overall, the Blue and Orange finished with 50 kills on .195 hitting as they improved each frame.
In fact, during the fourth frame, Purchase scored 18 of its 25 points on kills and rallied from a five-point deficit to secure the Skyline win.
As for the hosts, they finished with just 37 kills and .109 hitting.Â
Individually,
Jael Martinez (JR/Bronx, NY) finished with 19 points (15 kills, two solo blocks, two block assists and an ace) to led the effort.
Danny Kanner (FY/Smithtown, NY) recorded match-high totals in assists (36), digs (18) and aces (6), while
Hector Ruiz (SO/Bronx, NY) chipped in 13 kills and seven digs.
Up next for the Panthers is the first home game since January, as they host Manhattanville University on March 3rd at 6 p.m.
