PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's tennis team earned its first win of 2026 Friday afternoon, besting John Jay College by the score of 6-1.

With the result, the Panthers are now 1-1 overall, while the Bloodhounds open the year at 0-1.

On the day, the Blue and Orange cruised early and often as they set the tempo early by winning the doubles' point.

In singles, No.1 Eli Palagatshev (SR/Yonkers, NY) and No.3 Dexter Pretnar (JR/Mohegan Lake, NY) dropped just one game each across their matches, while No.6 Ryan Hobson (SO/Baldwin, NY) took his contest in a sweep.

No.2 Isaac Spottek (SO/Conklin, NY) and No.5 Damian Headley (JR/Brooklyn, NY) also secured wins to seal the victory for the hosts.

Up next for the squad is the start of Skyline Conference play, as the Panthers hosts Yeshiva University on March 22nd at 11 a.m.
