PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's tennis team had its season come to a close Monday afternoon, after falling to Yeshiva University in the First Round of the Skyline Conference Playoffs.
The final score on the day was 4-0, as the Panthers finished the season 7-8 overall. For the Macs, they move onto the Skyline Semifinals.
The No.5-seeded Blue and Orange were defeated in the first two doubles matchup, before they dropped the first three singles contests as well.
As a result, the No.4-seeded Macs prevailed before the rest of the matchups could finish.
Eli Palagatshev (SR/Yonkers, NY) was well on his way to a win at the No.1 spot, 6-4 and 4-3.
No.2 singles
Isaac Spottek (SO/Conklin, NY) also won the first game, 6-4, before his match concluded at a tie score, 2-2.
The contest was the final one in the careers of Palagatshev and
Pedro Llonch-Vidalle (SR/New York, NY), as the duo is set to graduate next month.
The men's tennis team will return to the court in March 2027.
