OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. - The Purchase College softball team concluded the 2026 season Saturday afternoon by dropping a pair of games at SUNY Old Westbury.
Scores for the contests were 3-1 and 8-0.
Game One: Old Westbury 3, Purchase 1
Through the first five innings, the two sides were evenly matched at one run apiece. It wasn't until the bottom of the sixth the game changed, as the hosts plated two runs to make it 3-1.
The Blue and Orange then endured a 1-2-3 seventh inning, handing the contest to their rivals.
Overall, the Panthers finished with seven hits, as
Arielle Reddick (SO/Fishkill, NY) led the way with two.
On the mound,
Bryce Kane (FY/Westborough, MA) pitched a complete-game, going six innings. She allowed three runs on nine hits with four strikeouts.
Game Two: Old Westbury 8, Purchase 0 (5 inn.)
The final game was much more one-sided, as Old Westbury cruised thanks to seven runs over the first three innings.
For Purchase, it finished with two hits in the effort.
Sariah Sanchez (SO/Eastvale, CA) led the way with a hit and a walk.
Liv Goff (JR/Syracuse, NY) was tagged with the loss after going three innings. She allowed seven runs on six hits.
With the results, the Panthers finished the year 15-21 overall and 5-13 in the Skyline Conference. The 15 wins marked a four-win increase compared to 2025.
Purchase will return to the field in March for the 2027 campaign.
