PURCHASE, N.Y. - The SUNY Purchase women's tennis team earned a decisive victory Thursday night, as it bested Bard College by the score 6-1.
With the result, the Panthers are now 3-1 on the year. For the Raptors, they dropped to 0-2.
The final score was an exact inverse of last year's result, when Bard topped the Blue and Orange at their campus.
The win was also Purchase's first over the foe in nearly 20 years, as the Panthers last topped the Liberty League foe back in 2007.
On the night, the hosts cruised early and often, as they took all three doubles matches to earn the first point.
From there, the Panthers won No.1-4, 6 singles to seal the emphatic win. The top finishers included, No.3
Emma Van Dorpe (JR/Nyack, NY), who won 6-0, 6-1, and No.6
Sadie Killebrew (SR/Brooklyn, NY) by the total of 6-1, 6-2.
Up next for the squad is a 10-day break, before they are back in action at home against Baruch College on September 27th at noon.
