RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The SUNY Purchase men's soccer team was defeated on the road Wednesday evening, falling to the University of Mount Saint Vincent by the score of 2-1.
With the result, the Panthers moved to 1-7-1 overall and 0-2-1 in the Skyline Conference. For the Dolphins, they jumped to 3-2-2 and 2-0-1, respectively.
On the night, the Blue and Orange got the scoring started, as
Jacob Pence (SO/Asbury, NJ) found the back of the net in 19th minute.
The goal was fifth of the season for Pence, as he easily leads the Panthers on the year.
The score remained 1-0 into the second half, until the hosts broke through in the 56th minute to tie the game up. 21 minutes later, the Dolphins again scored to sneak ahead late, before holding on for the win.
Overall, Purchase produced nine shots in the effort, including three on goal. In goal,
Ryder Lucas (FY/Penfield, NY) finished with seven saves.
Up next for the squad is a road matchup at Sarah Lawrence College on September 26th at 3 p.m.
