Brenden LaPorte joins the Panther coaching staff for his first season as a collegiate coach in 2018 after catching for the Panthers for two seasons.
Brenden played high school baseball in Farmington, CT where he played for Coach Mike McGuire and helped lead the Indians to a State Championship appearance in 2011. Brenden was a part of the All-Conference academic team during his junior and senior year of high school before he started his collegiate career at American International College in Springfield, MA. After his freshman year Brenden transferred to Lynchburg College where he was a part of the Hornet baseball team for two seasons.
After the conclusion of his junior year, Brenden transferred to Purchase College where he started for two years for Coach Taraska while adding two consecutive all-conference catcher awards (2015 & 2016). He was a co-captain his senior year where he batted .276 and led the team in runs (27) and top five in RBI (13) and hits (32).
Brenden played summer ball throughout his collegiate career where he was a two time summer league all-star.
Brenden has also coached for two consecutive summers with the Connecticut Blue Jays AAU program, where he has coached players ranging from sixteen to eighteen years of age.
He resides in Farmington, CT.
