A 2013 Graduate of Arcadia University, Philip McCarthy enters his first year as an assistant coach for Purchase College. He will be responsible for goalkeeper training, film analysis and academic monitoring of players.

As a goalkeeper at Arcadia, McCarthy helped to turn his alma mater into a perennial contender in the highly competitive MAC Commonwealth Conference.
 
Prior to Arcadia, McCarthy played at John S. Burke Catholic High School and at the club level for the Washingtonville Hurricanes.

As the goalkeeper for Burke Catholic, McCarthy posted an undefeated record against league opponents and backstopped the Eagles to three straight Section IX title games.
 
McCarthy competed in the Eastern Hudson Valley Youth Soccer League during his eight-year career for the Hurricanes. While a member of the Hurricanes, McCarthy helped his teams win the league six out of eight seasons.

Under the direction of Head Coach Luiz Amaral, McCarthy spent time training at Coopevale Futebol Clube in Governador Valadares, Brazil.
 
In 2013, McCarthy graduated from Arcadia with a B.A. degree in history and a teaching certificate in secondary education. He resides in Goshen, NY, and is pursuing a Master of Science in Education.
