Caroline Shannon

Raised in Paris and New York, Caroline Shannon is bicultural and bilingual. She has swum competitively in both the United States and France. She started to swim competitively at the age of nine and subsequently joined Middies and Empire Swimming. Recruited as a student-athlete, she swam for four years at Vassar College, where she held records in the 200 and 400 IM.  She graduated in 2012 with a degree in French Studies and Art History.

While earning her Masters of Education at Hunter College, Caroline Shannon was a Swim Instructor for Imagine Swimming (NYC).  She also trained to qualify to race triathlon professionally and represent the United States internationally. In 2017, she moved into the professional field at the same time as she was teaching full-time as a French teacher at Horace Mann School.

Caroline Shannon is both a dedicated athlete and a dedicated coach. At Horace Mann, she shifted into a full-time position in the Athletics Department, where she coached Middle and Varsity Swimming, Soccer, Cross-Country, and Track.  While there, she utilized her skills to coach swimmers to multiple school, league and NYSAIS records.  Most recently, she coached at AGUA as an Age Group coach, she has coached multiple swimmers to first-time Metro Age Group Championship top-10 finishes.
