Justin Lorenzo joins the SUNY Purchase baseball coaching staff for the 2026 season after wrapping up an impressive ending to his collegiate career with the Panthers. A Freeport, NY native, Lorenzo made a steady impact throughout his four years in the program and emerged as a key leader by his senior year.
During his 2025 senior season, Lorenzo served as a team captain and led the pitching staff ins both, ERA and appearances. His ability to start, relieve and close games showcased his versatility and reliability, making him one of Purchase's most trusted and competitive arms.
Lorenzo was also part of two Panther postseason teams during his career, contributing to the Panthers's run to the Skyline Conference Championship Tournament in 2023 and helping the program return to the playoffs again in 2024. Those experiences provided valuable insight into competing at a high level within the conference.
Graduating from SUNY Purchase with a Bachelor's of Science in Communications and Economics, Lorenzo brings both a strong analytical approach and firsthand on-field knowledge to his coaching role. he looks forward to helping develop the Panthers' pitching staff and contributing to a competitive, growth-focused and team-first environment.Â
