Kevon Kareem Bruce (SR/Hayes, Jamaica) had a team-high 17 kills and 1.2 blocks per set in five-set win over Brooklyn College. The victory handed the Panthers a win in their home opener.

He was later named to the Skyline Conference Honor Roll for player of the week and has also been named Purchase College Student-Athlete of the Week, sharing the honor with men's basketball player John Pressley (JR/New York, NY).
