Jamaica, NY (Oct. 8, 2011) – After dropping a conference match at St. Joe's in its last outing, Purchase rebounded and got healthy in a dominating 8-1 win at Baruch on Saturday.

The Panthers (4-3) feasted on the Bearcats at York College in Jamaica, winning all three doubles and five of the six singles to coast to victory. The Bearcats (2-8) earned their lone point at No. 6 singles with Olga Shevchenko recording a 6-4, 6-3 victory.

The doubles pairing of Moriah Ormsby (SO/Montebello, NY) and Gabriella Marden (SO/Bayside, NY) skated 8-2 at No. 1, while teammates Ashley Bernhardt (SO/Bethpage, NY) and Melissa Siller (Roslyn Heights, NY) combined for an 8-3 victory. Chelsea Quinn (SO/Southold, NY) and Alyson Lopez (SR/Brooklyn, NY) rounded out the doubles sweep in a perfect 8-0 win. The partners bested Barbara Lucas and Olga Shevchenko.

Marden kept things rolling in singles. She won 6-0, 6-1 against Victoria Morozova. Ormsby followed suit with a nice 6-4, 6-1 win. Siller stayed hot in singles, going 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3.

Not to be outdone, Bernhardt duplicated the feat, winning in straight sets – 6-0, 6-0. Michelle Gil (SR/Valleystream, NY) rounded out the Panther win column by defeating Lucas 6-4, 6-3 at No. 5 singles.

The Panthers return home for an early week matchup with Sarah Lawrence Tuesday.
