Farmingdale, NY (Jan. 21, 2012) – The basketball teams were not only met with inclement weather Saturday in their travels to Long Island to face Farmingdale State, but also couldn't manage a victory as the host Rams swept both ends of the afternoon doubleheader.

Matthews was fouled on the next possession and sank both to cut the Rams deficit to three, 57-54, with 1:32 left.

Matthews made a big block on Purchase's Joel Neri (FR/Port Chester, NY) to save a basket and Smith took the ball down for a layup and the foul, the Rams trailed by one, 57-56.

Smith then tied the game by completing his three-point play, 57-57.

John Pressley (JR/New York, NY) was fouled and hit one of two to give Purchase the 58-57 lead.

After another timeout, Smith was fouled and sank both to give Farmingdale the one-point lead, 59-58, with four seconds on the clock. He then stole the ball with two seconds left and made another layup with 0.1 on the clock as the Rams took the 61-58 victory.
