Box ScorePurchase, NY (Oct. 19, 2014) – The Purchase College women's tennis team capped its conference slate with a 6-3 loss to The Sage Colleges on Sunday during Senior Day. With two regular-season matches remaining, the Panthers are 3-5 overall and 1-4 in the Skyline Conference, while the Gators are 8-7 and 4-3.
The chilly day began with an opening ceremony honoring Purchase's sole senior,
Jasmine Rippey (Deansboro, NY). Despite losing her singles match to Sage's Erin Duffy, Rippey along with teammate
Lilly Murray (SR/New Canaan, CT) earned a No. 2 doubles win over Katie Schultz and Lauren Bendall, 8-3.
Murray went on to win in singles action, 6-3, 6-2, at the No. 4 spot.
Purchase's third win came at No. 5 singles when
Roula Zyada (JR/ Cairo, Egypt) topped Sage's Alex Faas, 6-1, 6-4.
The Panthers return to their home court on Thursday as they get set to host William Paterson in a rescheduled non-conference match.
