(Oct. 7, 2014) – The Purchase College women's tennis team was shutout Tuesday at home by Skyline Conference rival Farmingdale State, 9-0.
With the defeat, the Panthers fall to 2-4 overall and 1-2 in the league while the Rams improve to 8-1, 3-0.
Purchase was led by junior
Roula Zyada (Cairo, Egypt) who recorded three points in singles play despite losing 6-1, 6-2.
In her first collegiate appearance, Panther rookie
Shannon Clancy (FR/Babylon, NY) lost to Farmingdale's Tatiana Rosamilia, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 5 singles. Clancy teamed up with
Hannah Youssef (FR/Carmel, NY) in doubles action but lost to Michelle Fredericks and Denise Liguori, 8-1.
Purchase remains home as it welcomes St. Joseph's College-LI on Saturday, Oct. 11. The match is set to begin at noon at the Purchase College Tennis Courts.
