(Oct. 14, 2015) – Behind Michael Ennis, Mount Saint Mary defeated Purchase 3-0 Wednesday night.
The senior scored a goal and added an assist while teammate Matthew Minniter recorded a pair of assists to pace the Knights. MSMC struck early on an Eric Hayes goal in the third minute. Minniter put a ball into the box and Hayes beat the keeper to push the Knights in front by a goal just 2:58 into the contest.
Michael Blaauboer added his fifth goal of the season in the middle stages of the first period to help the Knights build a two goal advantage heading into halftime.
Ennis fed Blaauboer with a pass inside the box and he finished it off at the 27:20 mark.
The only goal of the second half came in the 74th minute when Ennis deflected in a free kick.
Keeper
Esteban Aguilar (SR/East Hampton, NY) finished the night with seven saves for the Panthers.
For the night, Mount held the edge in shots (15-5) and corner kicks (3-2).
Wednesday's win moves Mount to 5-9-1 overall and to 4-2-0 in league play. Purchase is 4-11, including 3-4 in the Skyline.
