Brooklyn, NY (Oct. 18, 2015) – An early score stood up for Yeshiva Sunday.

The Maccabees defeated Purchase 1-0 at the Aviator Sports Complex in Brooklyn.

In the eleventh minute of the contest, forward Itamar Ben David bent a shot from 30 yards out that hooked around the defense and into the corner of the goal. The score was assisted by midfielder Dan Cohen.
That strike would prove decisive, as the teams went the distance without another score. The game was marked by physical, gritty play on both sides.

Yeshiva (6-5-1, 5-1-1 Skyline) remains in second place in the league standings with three matches left to play.   

Purchase is now 4-12, including 3-5 in the league.

It was Ben David's team-leading 12th goal of the season.
