(Oct. 20, 2015) – Yeshiva earned its first Skyline Conference win of the season Tuesday night at the ARC Arena on the campus of Baruch College.
YU defeated Purchase 25-19, 25-19, 25-23.
Senior setter Emily Rohan led Yeshiva with a season-high 13 kills with six service aces, 13 digs and a block. Rohan's serve proved crucial in the contest and helped pace the hosts in the victory.
Purchase was led by outside hitter
Julia Chirlin (SO/Albany, NY) with nine kills and four digs.
Danielle Holmes (JR/Warwick, NY) added two blocks,
Lillian Dixon (SO/Jackson, NJ) contributed three aces,
Cynthia Plackis (SO/Huntington, NY) totaled 21 digs and
Alex Lally (JR/Sunnyvale, TX) handed out 13 assists to top those categories for the Panthers.
The pivotal moment came in the third set with Yeshiva trailing 19-17. The Maccabees reeled off six straight points.
With the victory, the Maccabees are now 2-11 overall and 1-5 in the Skyline standings while the Panthers head home at 0-18 and 0-6 against league opponents.
