(Oct. 30, 2015) – The Purchase College women's volleyball team wrapped up 2015 home action with a loss to York College, 3-0, Friday evening.
The Panthers, celebrating Senior Night, dropped the sets 25-16, 25-16, 25-18, and for solo senior
Jade Hackett (Mount Vernon, NY), it would be her final match on the Panther home court.
York (6-19) jumped out to quick leads en route to winning the first and second sets. The visiting Cardinals amassed an 18-6 kills advantage with a .135 hitting percentage to take control.
In the third set, three straight service aces and a kill from Tiandra Jones would give the Cardinals a 9-2 advantage over the Panthers. The Purchase offense struggled to answer back, totaling six service errors in the loss, as York claimed the 25-18 victory.

Nicole Fortuna (JR/New Rochelle, NY),
Julia Chirlin (SO/Albany, NY) and
Danielle Holmes (JR/Warwick, NY) each tallied two kills, with Chirlin picking up 11 digs and four service aces and Fortuna totaling four digs and three aces.
Alex Lally (JR/Sunnyvale, TX) aided in the Panther effort with eight assists, six digs and three aces.
Shauncia McClendon led the Cardinal's with a match-high 12 kills, while teammate Kiranjeet Kaur totaled an impressive eight service aces and 17 assists.
Purchase returns to action tomorrow with a road tri-match hosted by the College of Mount Saint Vincent. The opening Skyline matchup is tagged for 11 a.m.
