(Nov. 22, 2015) - The Purchase College men's basketball team stunned host Ramapo College in the opening game of their Roadrunner Tip-Off Tournament, 81-58. The victory sends the Panthers into today's championship against Johnson & Wales University.
The Roadrunners suffered their first loss of the season, falling to 2-1 overall, while the Panthers (2-2) move on to face Johnson & Wales.
Ramapo scored the first basket of the game, when Josh Ford hit a bucket with 19:36 but then trailed for the next six minutes before they went on a mini 6-0 run capped off with a jumper from Jermaine Peart for an 18-12 lead with 11:11 on the clock.

Creig Graves (SR/Harlem, NY) nailed a 3-pointer for the Panthers that sparked a 12-2 run.
The run was capped off by 3 from Graves to put Purchase in the lead 24-20 with just under seven minutes to play in the first half. Purchase closed the half up 34-29.
In the opening period, the Panthers were led by Graves with 13 points while

In the second half, the two teams traded baskets before the Panthers began to pull away with just under 14 minutes to play in the game.
Purchase went on a 14-4 run that included four 3s from
Jose Reyes (SR/Bronx, NY) to take a 17-point lead, 63-46, with 9:48 to go in the game.
The team went up by more than 20 points for the first time in the game when Reyes hit yet another long ball, 72-51, before they took their biggest lead of the game, 81-57, a 24-point lead on a made basket by
Nicholas Jackson (SR/Brooklyn, NY) with under a minute to play.
The Panthers were led by Reyes with 20 point, including six of nine from beyond the three-point line while
Joel Neri (SR/Port Chester, NY) added 21 points and 16 rebounds. Jackson added 12 points and five rebounds while
Taylor Foster (SR/Greenburgh, NY) dished out a game-high 12 assists, along with eight points and six rebounds. The team shot 45% (30-66) from the field, 40% (10-25) from the three-point line and 68% (11-16) from the foul line.
Ramapo was led by Nick Stanek with 16 points and five rebounds while Ford added 14 points.
