(April 23, 2015) – The Purchase College women's tennis team wrapped up its schedule today.
The Panthers, which completed all but one of their matches in the fall, hosted the College of Staten Island in their final regular-season match of the year.
CSI earned a 6-3 victory in the spring matchup, which was delayed a few times due to inclement weather this season.
CSI took victories at 1-4 singles, highlighted by a win by Nozima Toshpulatova at No. 1 singles.
The Panthers earned wins at fifth and sixth singles as
Hannah Youssef (FR/Carmel, NY) and newcomer
Maggie Lavin (FR/Whitestone, NY) collected victories.
Youssef won 8-1 at No. 4, while Lavin won by default.
The Panthers dropped the opening two matches of doubles at No. 1 and No. 2, but teammates Lavin and
Jasmine Rippey (SR/Deansboro, NY) kept Purchase in the contest early with a win at No. 3.
Purchase returns a solid core for next fall and will be under new leadership with new
head coach Susan Kaminsky taking over the program.
