Panthers Snap Skid, Collect Conference Win at SJC-BKLYN

Brooklyn, NY (Sept. 26, 2015) – Purchase earned a 3-0 victory at St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn Saturday to get back on the winning track.

The Panthers are now 2-7 overall, but more importantly evened their Skyline Conference record at 1-1. The Loss dropped SJC-BKLYN to 0-5-1 overall and 0-2 in the league.

Purchase had a quick start, scoring a goal 42 seconds into the match. Hunter Wilson (JR/Lake Placid, NY) made a pass into the box that Joel Viveros (SO/Valhalla, NY) then deposited into the net to give Purchase the 1-0 lead they carried into the intermission.

The game remained scoreless until the 65th minute, when Ramsey Heitmann (FR/Garrison, NY) broke off a long run down the left wing, beating his man and cutting into the box to make it 2-0. The visitors tacked on an insurance goal in the 81st minute, when Samvara Anello (SR/Bali, Indonesia) found Tim Rera (SR/Cornwall, NY) with a long pass down the left wing for the score.

Keeper Esteban Aguilar (SR/East Hampton, NY) finished with a clean sheet, making eight saves facing 11 shots in total.

Purchase moves to 2-0 in the all-time series in the first meeting between the schools since 2011.
