Women's Soccer Falls to CMSV in Double Overtime

Riverdale, NY (Sept. 27, 2015) – The Purchase College women's soccer team fired nine shots on goal but were unable to crack the scoring column, falling to the College of Mount Saint Vincent, 3-2, in double overtime Sunday afternoon.

Forwards Marykate McGee (SR/Oceanside, NY) and Riley Graham (JR/Red Bluff, CA) each had a goal for the Panthers.  McGee's goal, assisted by Amanda Green (JR/Roslyn Heights, NY), tied the game at one apiece in the second stanza.  Less than five minutes later, Graham put the Panthers ahead, 2-1, with an unassisted goal.

The Dolphins answered back at 72:06 with a goal scored by Julia McGowan.  The score remained tied at two throughout the end of regulation and the first overtime period, but the Dolphins were able to put home the winning tally in the 100th minute off a rebounded shot taken by Kelly Gibison.

Panther goalkeeper Briana Leon (JR/Glen Cove, NY) made three saves in the game.

Purchase returns to action Wednesday with a 7 p.m. home game against Skyline opponent Sarah Lawrence College.
