Newburgh, NY (Oct. 19, 2016) – The Purchase College women's tennis team wrapped up its 2016 campaign with a Skyline Conference 5-4 victory over Mount Saint Mary College on Wednesday evening. 

The No. 6 Panthers close out the season with a record of 5-8 overall, 3-4 in the Skyline.  The Knights (5-10, 2-5 SKY) drop to the No. 7 spot in defeat.

Purchase took a 2-1 lead coming out of doubles play and tallied another three points with wins at the second, third and fifth singles flights.

In doubles, seniors Caroline Haldeman-Emmerling (Miami Shores, FL) and Tara Persaud (Pleasantville, NY) won the No. 2 position, 8-5.  The No. 3 doubles duo of Cailey McKenna (FR/Manorville, NY) and Abigail Cuddy (SO/Mount Kisco, NY) also tallied an 8-5 win for the Panthers. 

In singles, senior Erika Fulton (Wallingford, CT) won the second flight, 6-0, 6-3.  Haldeman-Emmerling won at the No. 3 spot, 6-0, 6-1, and Cuddy tallied the fifth point to seal in the Panther victory with a 6-1, 6-4 at the No. 5 spot.
