Old Westbury, NY
(Oct. 1, 2016) – Old Westbury topped Purchase 4-1 on its Senior Day Saturday.
Seniors Ryan Finnin, Alexander Hilton, Jon Kerby, Jorge Rodriguez, Oscar Sosa, and Adan Velasquez were honored in a pregame ceremony. Old Westbury answered early, as Sosa connected with Dominick Guidice from deep to give the hosts a 1-0 lead at 17:14.
Exactly one minute later, Kerby found Velasquez on a one-touch pass to double Old Westbury's advantage.
With 31 seconds remaining in the period, OW's defense was charged with a hand ball, which led to a converted penalty kick by Purchase defender and tri-captain
Anthony Iurillo (JR/Flushing, NY), slicing the deficit in half.
However, Velasquez banged home his second goal of the game to get the second-half scoring going in the 57th minute off a feed from Guidice.
Velasquez then assisted on Old Westbury's fourth goal, as Rodriguez settled the 4-1 final in the 85th minute.
