Purchase, NY (Sept. 17, 2016) – The Purchase College women's tennis team lost to Farmingdale State, 8-1, in a Skyline Conference match Saturday afternoon. 

Farmingdale (5-3, 1-1 Skyline) jumped out to an early 2-1 lead after the Rams tallied wins at first and second doubles.  Priscilla Signore and Qurat-ul-ain Rai defeated seniors Emma Yavel (Brooklyn, NY) and Erika Fulton (Wallingford, CT), 8-2, at the No. 1 spot, while Tatiana Rosamilia and Kayla Reidy picked up an 8-4 win at the No. 2 position.   

The Panther duo of Abigail Cuddy (SO/Mount Kisco, NY) and Cailey McKenna (FR/Manorville, NY) earned the Panthers' only win of the afternoon, defeating Carolann La Monica and Olivia Stauffer, 9-8 (7-4), at No. 3 doubles.

At No. 1 singles, Yavel battled until the end but fell short, losing a 6-4, 6-3 decision to Signore.

The Rams went on to win the final five singles matches.

The Panthers will travel to Sarah Lawrence College on Sept. 21 for a Skyline Conference match starting at 6 p.m.
