Bronxville, NY (Sept. 21, 2016) – Bouncing back from Saturday's loss, the Purchase women's tennis team swept past Sarah Lawrence, 9-0, at SLC courts Wednesday evening. 

The Panthers advance to 3-4 overall and 2-2 in the Skyline with the win, while the Gryphons drop to 0-6, 0-4.

Seniors Emma Yavel (Brooklyn, NY) and Erika Fulton (Wallingford, CT) led the team in first doubles with an 8-3 win, while Yavel triumphed at first singles with a 6-2, 6-1 win. 

Purchase went on to sweep at second and third doubles as well.

Singles competition followed a similar script, with the Panthers winning comfortably at all six flights.

Fulton defeated Sofia Reh, 8-1, at second singles while Caroline Haldeman-Emmerling (SR/Miami Shores, FL) battled to a 1-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4) overtime win at the No. 3 spot.

Nastaja Stepec (SO/New York, NY) and Abigail Cuddy (SO/Mount Kisco, NY) notched wins at fourth and fifth singles, respectively, while Panther newcomer Tara Persaud (SR/Pleasantville, NY) posted a 6-0, 6-0 at sixth singles.

The Panthers return to their home court on Friday with a non-conference match against Western Connecticut State University.
