Purchase, NY (Sept. 27, 2016) – Purchase College dropped a 6-3 decision to visiting Lehman College in a non-conference women's tennis match Tuesday evening.

In defeat, the Panthers fall to 3-6 overall while the Lightning advance to 6-1 on the season.

Lehman took a 2-1 lead coming out of doubles with wins at the No. 1 and 2 spots. Panther rookies Abigail Cuddy (SO/Mount Kisco, NY) and Cailey McKenna (FR/Manorville, NY) picked up the only doubles win for Purchase with an 8-0 shutout over Patricia Cadet and Elizaveta Ostanina at the No. 3 position.

The Lightning continued to dominate in singles action, notching wins in four of the six positions.  For Purchase, Tara Persaud (SR/Pleasantville, NY) and Sofia Rapisarda (FR/Brooklyn, NY) tallied wins at No. 5 and 6 singles, respectively.   

The Panthers head to Brooklyn, NY on Thursday for a non-conference match hosted by Brooklyn College.  Match start is set for 4 p.m.
