Green's Hat Trick Highlights Win Over Yeshiva

Panthers Shut Out Maccabees, 8-0

Purchase, NY (Sept. 28, 2016) – Senior Amanda Green (Roslyn, NY) recorded her fifth career hat trick as the Purchase College women's soccer team defeated Yeshiva University, 8-0, at home Wednesday night.

With the win, the Panthers advance to 3-5 overall and 3-1 in the Skyline Conference, while the Maccabees fall to 0-7 and 0-11 in the league.

Emily Saltman (JR/Huntington, NY) got the scoring started after knocking in a pass from Green just 10 minutes into the game.  The goal was Saltman's fourth of the season.

Green scored the second goal, unassisted, and rookie Ashley Blom (FR/Bethpage, NY) followed with her first collegiate goal off a pass from Saltman at 27:48.  Brett Robison (FR/Franklin Square, NY) netted the fourth goal off a pass down the middle from Emma Porter (JR/Homer, NY). Green and Robison tallied the fifth and sixth goals, respectively, to close out the first half of the game.

Blom scored again at 62:22.  Saltman provided the assist with a cross to the top of the 18-yard box.

Green rounded out the Panther scoring and sealed her hat trick performance with an unassisted goal in the 66th minute.

The Panthers outshot the Maccabees 20-0.  Yeshiva goalkeeper Gabriella Chutter tallied five saves over the 90 minutes of action.

Up next, the Panthers continue Skyline play with a road match against St. Joseph's College (LI) on Saturday.  Kickoff is set for 12 p.m.
