(Oct. 14, 2017) – Visiting Mount Saint Mary College posted a 7-0 victory at Purchase College Saturday to stay perfect in Skyline Conference play.
The Knights are now 6-0 in league play, atop the conference standings. MSMC also improved to 12-2-1 overall. The loss drops the Panthers to 4-8 on the fall, including 2-4 in the Skyline.
MSMC started strong in the first half with a pair of goals. Allison Jones scored the game's first goal off a cross from 15 yards out (25:41). Later, Bridget McKeever made it 2-0 on a cross from 10 out (29:20).
McKeever then followed with an unassisted strike (41:06) for her 15th goal of the season. Destiny Ribadeneyra capped the scoring in the period with her 15th (42:17).
In the second half, MSMC sealed the victory with three goals, including the second of the game for Jones and single goals from Nicolette Wurglics and Alex Franceschi.
Lost in defeat was the play of Panther keeper
Amber Yarter (SO/Albany, NY). She made several key saves to keep the game close early, finishing the afternoon with 19 saves.
