Purchase, NY (Oct. 7, 2017) – The Purchase College women's tennis team rallied to edge Mount Saint Mary College, 5-4, in a Skyline Conference match on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Panthers advance to 6-3 overall and 3-2 in the Skyline, while the Knights drop to 1-4 overall and 2-3 in the league.

Purchase took home wins in second and third doubles.  Abigail Cuddy (JR/Mount Kisco, NY) and Catherine Pasquale (SR/Valhalla, NY) defeated the Mount's Charlotte Pascual and Dorothy Tighe, 8-2, at No. 2 doubles.  The Purchase duo of Nadia Shadi (JR/New York, NY) and Raquelle DeCicco (FR/Kingston, NY) added another point for the Panthers with an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles.

The Panthers led 2-1 as both teams prepared for singles. 

MSMC tied the match at two-apiece after Tighe claimed the No. 5 singles match, 6-2, 6-1.

DeCicco put Purchase back in the lead, 3-2, with a 6-3. 6-2 victory at fourth singles. Pasquale was next in line to score for the Panthers, downing Pascual, 6-4, 6-2, at the No. 2 spot.

With a 4-3 lead over the visiting Knights, Purchase claimed the match-winning point at third singles. Cuddy defeated the Mount's Antonietta Capone 6-3, 6-2.

Up next for Purchase is a road match at Farmingdale State on Oct. 10. The Skyline match is scheduled for 5 p.m.
