Men's Volleyball Closes Regular Season Action at Ramapo Tri-Match

Mahwah, NJ (April 8, 2017) – The Purchase College men's volleyball team concluded regular season action at the Ramapo College tri-match on Saturday.  The Panthers suffered a 3-1 loss to Sage College before being shut out by the host Roadrunners, 3-0, in game two.
  
Match One: Sage 3, Purchase 1
The Gators went picked up their second win of the day after defeating Purchase 3-1 (25-8, 25-15, 23-25, 25-15). 

Bailey Cecchi led the Gators with 13 kills and Shane Wenz added seven as the team combined for 43 kills on 102 attempts and 18 errors hitting .245.  Austin Laverty dished out 36 assists and Casey Fitzpatrick led the defense with 13 digs.  Cecchi added 11 digs in the win. 

Senior standout Kevin Carges (Brockport, NY) led the Panthers with ten kills and Andrew Schwab (SR/Merrick, NY) recorded five as the team hit .018 with 25 kills on 111 attempts and 23 errors.  Riley Damerell (SR/Rochester, NY) dished out 19 assists and Carges led with seven digs.
 
Match Two:  Ramapo 3, Purchase 0
The Roadrunners fought back to take their second match of the day over Purchase, 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-21).  

Connor Brandow and Nick Amos both led the team with ten kills each as the team combine hitting 43-87 with 11 errors, .368.  Lucas Inglis dished out 21 assists, Justin Feigeles added 17 and Feigeles, Amos, Paul Close and Terrance Cando each picked up five digs. 

Carges led Panthers with 13 kills as the team hit 30-78 with 17 errors hitting .167.  Damerell dished out a team leading 23 assists and combined with Chris Williams (JR/Valley Stream, NY) for 12 digs.

The Panthers close out the 2017 regular season with an overall record of 14-8 and a league record of 4-5. No. 6 Purchase will head to No. 3 College of Mount Saint Vincent on Tuesday night for the opening round of the Skyline Championship Tournament.
