Purchase, NY (Sept. 30, 2017) – Purchase women's tennis is now 4-2 on the fall after downing Sarah Lawrence College, 8-1, at home Saturday morning.

The Panthers opened action with a 3-0 sweep in doubles play. Senior Caroline Haldeman-Emmerling (Miami Shores, FL) and freshman Raquelle DeCicco (Kingston, NY) led the home team with an 8-3 victory at No. 1 doubles, while senior Catherine Pasquale (Valhalla, NY) and junior Abigail Cuddy (Ossining, NY) swept the second spot, 8-0.

Junior Nadia Shadi (New York, NY) and freshman Amelia Rothbell (Plainedge, NY) completed the 3-0 run with an 8-0 shutout at third doubles.

Haldeman-Emmerling, Cuddy and DeCicco went on to post wins at first, third and fourth singles, respectively. Shadi and Rothbell closed out the bottom half of the lineup, each netting a 6-0, 6-0 victory.

Sarah Lawrence's Jade Barnett-Irons tallied the visitor's only win of the day after battling to a 9-7 success at the No. 2 singles spot.

Up next, Purchase will travel to Patchogue, NY for a Skyline Conference match hosted by St. Joseph's College (L.I.) on Tuesday.
