Queens, NY (Oct. 1, 2018) – Purchase College continued its winning ways on Sunday with a 7-2 non-conference victory over Baruch at the Alley Pond Tennis Center.

The two teams were initially scheduled to play on September 18, but weather postponed the match.

The Panthers (5-1) jumped out to an early 2-1 lead following doubles action. Rookies Bianca Harris (FR/Montgomery, NY) and Grace Bradshaw (FR/Ossining, NY) recorded an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles, and the No. 2 duo of Abigail Cuddy (SR/Mount Kisco, NY) and Raquelle DeCicco (SO/Kingston, NY) erupted for an 8-2 victory.  

Purchase went on to win five of its six singles matches to secure the 7-2 triumph.

Baruch (2-2) earned its two points at third doubles (Elizabeth Mak, Regina Avrutis, won 8-3) and fifth singles (Natalie Ibelhaupt, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5).

Purchase returns home on Tuesday as the Panthers get set to host Skyline Conference opponent St. Joseph's College (L.I.). Match start is slated for 5 p.m.
