(Oct. 11, 2018) – The Purchase College women's volleyball team recovered from a subpar first set to battle conference foe Sarah Lawrence Thursday night at home before falling 3-1 in four sets.
The Panthers dropped the opening set 25-13, were edged 25-21 in the second and then won the third set, 25-22. However, SLC closed out the match, recovering to the tune of a 25-7 fourth-set win.
SLC was paced by Melanie Coleman. She posted a match-high 16 kills. Teammate Cat Ramey added 10 kills in the victory. Setter Isabel Pecora set the tone with 32 assists. Lauren Kilroy paced the defensive effort for the visitors with 17 digs.
Grace Ann Gropp (FR/Webster, NY) led Purchase with six kills.
Sommer Code (FR/Bronx, NY) added five kills, three aces, three assists and a team-best 19 digs.
