(Oct. 20, 2018) – Purchase College women's volleyball traveled to St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) Saturday for a Skyline Conference tri-match hosted by the Bears. Mount Saint Mary picked up the win over PC in the opener, 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-9), and host SJC defeated the Panthers in game two, 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-10).

The Knights won their third straight win overall and fourth straight against league rivals after hitting .277 as a team against Purchase.
For the Panthers, freshman
Sommer Code (Bronx, NY) led with five kills and a match-high 12 digs.
Mount's Alex Klesin matched Purchase's team kill total in the win with 15 of her own, hitting an efficient .343 in the match. Burke added a .412 attack percentage, collecting 10 more kills for the Knights to go along with three aces, two digs and a pair of total blocks.
Game 2: St. Joe's 3, Purchase 0
The opening set saw both teams go back-and-forth early before the Bears used a 6-0 run to build a 15-7 lead and never trailed again for the remainder of the match. Cristina Marrazzo, Valentina Urgo and Kayla Ostermann put away three kills each for in the .308 hitting frame.
Code recorded another five kills for Purchase to bring her total for the day to ten. Freshman
Skyla Schoppmeyer (Oakdale, NY) paced the Panther defense with nine digs, while freshman
Karina Medina (Brooklyn, NY) totaled 13 assists.
The SJC offense kept clicking in the second and third sets jumping out to sizable early leads and never let the Panthers back in the match. SJC logged double-digit kills in hit over .300 in all three sets while limiting the PC offense to as many attack errors as kills (16).
