(Oct. 3, 2018) – Farmingdale State scored five first-half goals en route to an 8-0 final at Purchase Wednesday night.
The Rams started hot and stayed that way throughout the first 45 minutes of play, living up to their perfect conference record. In the victory, FSC improves to 8-2 overall, including 3-0 in the Skyline Conference. The loss drops the Panthers to 1-6 and 0-2 in league.
FSC's Julissa Martinez keyed the offense, scoring twice in the first half. The visitors also got scores from Tara Lyons, Megan Murdocco and Annamaria Merante.
Martinez would go on to score a hat trick for the night.
Lyons got the Rams on the board off an assist from Jordan Martin. Murdocco and Merante followed before back-to-back scores from Martinez capped the half. Five different Ram players assisted on the first-half goals.
FSC tacked on a trio of goals in the second half. Murdocco scored her second of the contest. The final two goals came courtesy of Martinez and Kayla Duvenhorst.
Despite the final score, Purchase received a nice effort in goal from netminder
Amber Yarter (JR/Albany, NY). The keeper finished with 17 saves.
