(Oct. 6, 2018) – Purchase College team advanced its win streak to 6-1 with a Skyline Conference victory at Mount Saint Mary on Saturday. The Panthers downed the host Knights 8-1, netting their sixth consecutive win along the way.
Purchase jumped out to a 3-0 lead following doubles play. The No. 1 doubles duo of
Bianca Harris (FR/Montgomery, NY) and
Grace Bradshaw (FR/Ossining, NY) battled to an 8-4 win over Michelle Carnovale and Victoria Clay, while
Abigail Cuddy (SR/Mount Kisco, NY) and
Raquelle DeCicco (SO/Kingston, NY) shutout their opponents 8-0 at the No. 2 spot.
At third doubles, the pairing of
Nadia Shadi (SR/New York, NY) and
Alivia Cagliano (FR/Mastic Beach, NY) recorded an 8-6 triumph over Sarah Canzone and Julia Lorenzo.
In singles action, Cagliano was first to score for Purchase. The Panther newcomer picked up a 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 4 spot. DeCicco was next in line with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at third singles, followed by Bradshaw's 6-4, 6-1 win at the No. 2 position.
Carnovale defeated Harris 6-2, 6-2 at the top flight for Mount's lone point. Bradshaw, Cuddy and
Megan Fox (SR/Manhasset, NY) netted the final three points for Purchase with wins at second, fifth and sixth singles, respectively.
Up next, Purchase hosts Lehman College on Oct. 10 for a non-conference match starting at 3:30 p.m.
