Purchase, NY (Dec. 1, 2018) – The Panthers earned their first Skyline Conference victory over Sarah Lawrence at home on Saturday. Nine players from the Purchase roster contributed with scoring resulting in an impressive 87-49 victory.
 
The Panthers are now 3-4 overall and an even .500 (1-1) in the league. In defeat, the visiting Gryphons drop to 0-5 overall and 0-4 in Skyline action.
           
Sophomore guard Dejeana Peoples (New York, NY) led the Panthers statistically, notching four three-pointers and seven rebounds.
           
Senior guard Amber Jones (New York, NY) tallied a game-high 17 total points and nine assists. She also contributed an impressive eight steals and five boards.
           
Amber Yarter (SR/Albany, NY) and Shadai Plowden (FR/Yonkers, NY) trailed close behind as they each contributed 15 points. Yarter connected on 44.4 percent (4-9) from beyond the arc while also totaling a five assists.

Forward Emmamazy Prior added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the visiting Gryphons. Melanie Coleman stood out defensively grabbing 10 rebounds, respectively.

Purchase shot 43.3 percent from three point range, finishing with a field goal percentage of 44.3 percent.

Up next, Purchase will face Skyline competitor Mount Saint Mary College on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
