Bronx, NY (Mar. 16, 2018) – Purchase's men's tennis team took to the road on Friday afternoon, traveling to Lehman College for a non-conference matchup. The host Lightning picked up their first win of 2018 with a 9-0 shutout over the Panthers.

Lehman now stands at 1-1 overall, while Purchase drops to 0-2 on the season.

At first and second doubles the teams of Jason Strudwick and Richard Williams and the team of Michael Forte and Won Sik Park were victorious by identical 8-2 scores.  Lehman took the third doubles match via forfeit. 

At first singles Forte prevailed 6-2, 6-1.  At second singles Strudwick won 6-1, 6-4, and at the No. 3 spot, Richard Williams defeated his opponent 6-3, 6-1. 

Park came out on top 6-4, 6-2 at fourth singles.  In the fifth hole, the closest match of the day also went Lehman's way as Ioannis Vasos prevailed 7-6, 6-3.  The Lightning also took sixth singles by forfeit. 

The Panthers look to rebound next week (Mar. 21) in the Purchase home-opener against Hunter College. The non-conference match is slated for 3:30 p.m.
