(Mar. 15, 2018) – Baruch College pushed past Purchase in straight sets Thursday night, despite a solid effort from the visiting Panthers.
Baruch jumped out to a quick lead in the opening set and went on to dominate in the second and third, running off with 25-11, 25-11 and 25-21 wins, respectively. The Bearcats (10-10) were led by Stephen Roach with a career-high 10 aces and Nicholas Godino with a .600 attacking percentage.
The loss drops Purchase to 4-8 this season.
The Panthers were led by
Andreo Otiniano (SO/Mamaroneck, NY) who tallied five kills, four assists and four digs. Teammates
Christian Colon (FR/Bronx, NY) and
Luke Kubisch (JR/Delmar, NY) netted four kills apiece, to go along with nine assists, five digs and three blocks from
Chris Williams (SR/Valley Stream, NY).
The Panthers will look to rebound next time out, when they return to Purchase this Sunday (Mar. 18) for their first home tri-match of the season.
