(April 21, 2018) – An early deficit was too much for Purchase Saturday, despite five goals from standout
Kelly Turtell.
Visiting Mount Saint Mary posted a 16-9 win over the Panthers, who showed plenty of fight, rallying from down 4-0.
The Knights (7-6, 4-2 Skyline Conference) led 9-5 at the break and went on to outscore Purchase 7-5 in the last 30 minutes of play.
Ultimately, the strong start propelled MSMC to the win. The visitors were led by Liz Halpin and her team-best four goals. Olivia Green and Christina Ryan had three goals apiece.
Turtell (SR/Farmingdale, NY) paced all scorers with five goals. Teammates
Gabriella Castles (FR/Bethpage, NY) and
Astrella Dacosta (SO/Croton-on-Hudson, NY) scored two goals apiece.
Purchase is now 7-4 overall and 2-4 in the league.
