Edelson’s Two Homers Lost at CMSV

Chester, NY (April 7, 2018)Daniella Edelson continued to stay hot at the plate for Purchase, but the Panthers watched as the College of Mount Saint Vincent rallied in game one and edged them in game two for a Saturday sweep.

The Dolphins won the opener 10-6 at Frozen Ropes Park, scoring five runs in the seventh, including a grand slam home run. CMSV held off a Purchase rally in the last inning, winning game two, 7-6.

Edelson (JR/Hopewell Junction, NY) homered in both games. She went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI in game one. Carolina De Los Santos (FR/Brooklyn, NY), Victoria Capone-Froio (SR/Yonkers, NY) and Lisa Kentris (JR/Latham, NY) also collected multi-hit games. Antonina Fiore (SR/Mount Sinai, NY) doubled in the narrow defeat.

In game two, Edelson went 2-for-4 with three RBI, including her second blast of the day. In addition, De Los Santos and Capone-Froio notched two hits apiece.

The Panthers showed some resilience in the loss. They trailed 7-2 heading into the seventh and scored four runs. But the Dolphins ended the threat and escaped with the one-run win.
