PURCHASE, NY – Continuing to struggle in Skyline Conference play, the Purchase College women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to the College of Mount Saint Vincent Thursday night at home.
CMSV (12-6, 6-1 SKY) jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back as the Dolphins won the three sets by scores of 25-6, 25-8 and 25-8.
Mount Saint Vincent combined for 13 service aces and hit .366 as a team, led by senior outside hitter Tara Maloney. Maloney paced the Dolphin offense with an impressive six aces to go along with 13 kills on 27 attempts without a single error (.481). Teammate Samantha Schroeder registered 11 kills (.207), while Dez Brown recorded six kills on 10 attempts without a single error (.600). Setters Madison Gale and Brianna Ayuso combined for 27 of the visitors' 34 assists.

Gia Gwin (Yonkers, NY) finished with three kills (.133) and six digs. Senior co-captain and libero
Isis Gonzalez (Brooklyn, NY) netted a pair of kills and a match-best 13 digs, while freshman outside hitter
Pamella Gonzalez (Bronx, NY) totaled two kills and six digs. Sophomore setter
Skyla Schoppmeyer (Oakdale, NY) finished with six assists and seven digs.
The Panthers are off for the weekend and will resume Conference play on Monday (Oct. 21). Purchase is set to host neighboring rival Manhattanville College for a league matchup starting at 7 p.m.
