PURCHASE, NY – Farmingdale State hit .188 and knocked down 34 kills to defeat the Purchase women's volleyball team, 3-0, Wednesday evening. The visiting Rams took the match by set scores of 25-14, 25-20 and 25-10.
Purchase (4-12, 1-6 Skyline) saw some of its best offensive performances to open the first set. Freshman middle blocker

Isis Gonzalez (Brooklyn, NY) recorded kills, respectively, to push Purchase's lead to 3-0.
Farmingdale (12-8, 4-1 Skyline) clawed back to tie the game at 4-4, but a Ram attacking error on the next play put PC out in front once again. FSC later fired in four unanswered points to take an 8-5 advantage and would carry the lead for the remainder of the set. Ram sophomore Rachel McCartin secured the set win for the visitors with a kill off the assist of Kate Flamio.
FSC's offense did not let up in the second set as the Rams combined for 12 kills and three aces. Purchase, however, did hold its own as the Panthers denied 23 attempts from the visitors. Despite the defensive effort, PC would drop the set, 25-20, after producing only four kills on 25 attempts.
In the final set, the Rams combined for an impressive .346 hitting percentage and held PC to just two kills on 23 attempts. Farmingdale closed the set and secured the match victory with a score of 25-10.
FSC was led by McCartin, Flamio and Kelsey Voiklis. The trio combined for 21 kills and six aces. Junior setter Maria Veliz Thol tossed a match-high 11 assists over two sets, while McCartin and Emani Mensah tallied 17 and 11 digs, respectively.
For Purchase, Gwin recorded four kills, nine digs and one block assist. Senior co-captain
Joetta Francis (New York, NY) produced three kills, while Fasce finished with a pair of aces and two block assists. Freshman libero
Esmee Johns (Saratoga Springs, NY) led all players with 22 digs.
Purchase takes to the road this Friday to face non-conference opponent William Paterson University at 7 p.m.
