Panthers Fall to Yeshiva in Skyline Opener

PURCHASE, NY - The Purchase College women's tennis team lost its Skyline Conference opener Thursday, falling to Yeshiva University, 6-3. 

With the result, the Panthers are now 0-4 overall and 0-1 in the Skyline. Meanwhile, the Maccabees of Yeshiva improved to 5-2 and 4-1 respectively. 

Bianca Harris (SO/Montgomery, NY) and Isabel Biagiotti (SO/Highland Mills, NY) provided the first win of the night for Purchase, taking #1 doubles by the score of 8-4. Afterwards, despite cold temperatures, Harris won her #1 singles contest with a nice comeback, 4-6, 7-6 (9-7) and 10-6.

Nicole Sliwinski (FR/Newington, CT) earned the other Panther victory in the effort, winning her match, 7-6 (7-5), 1-6 and 10-7. The victory was the first of her collegiate career.

Up next for the Panthers is more Skyline Conference action, as the team hosts Sarah Lawrence College on September 24th. That match is set to begin at 4 pm and you can follow it here.
