PURCHASE, NY - The Purchase College women's tennis team lost its Skyline Conference opener Thursday, falling to Yeshiva University, 6-3. 
With the result, the Panthers are now 0-4 overall and 0-1 in the Skyline. Meanwhile, the Maccabees of Yeshiva improved to 5-2 and 4-1 respectively. 
Bianca Harris (SO/Montgomery, NY) and 
Isabel Biagiotti (SO/Highland Mills, NY) provided the first win of the night for Purchase, taking #1 doubles by the score of 8-4. Afterwards, despite cold temperatures, Harris won her #1 singles contest with a nice comeback, 4-6, 7-6 (9-7) and 10-6.
Nicole Sliwinski (FR/Newington, CT) earned the other Panther victory in the effort, winning her match, 7-6 (7-5), 1-6 and 10-7. The victory was the first of her collegiate career.
